How it works

1. Open Your Kit

Your Pantry Panning kit contains everything you need to start your mini gold rush at home, including a gold pan, pipette, vial, and sealed pay dirt containing real gold.

2. Fill the pan

Add a small amount of pay dirt from the bag. Fill a trough (sink, tub or bucket) with water to pan material into.

3. Break up the material & agitate

Remove rocks and break apart clumps. Now you can start panning: Submerge pan in water and gently shake the pan side to side and in circles. Gold is heavier, so it settles to the bottom.

4. Wash away lighter material

Tilt the pan slightly and gently wash away sand, gravel and dirt in the trough water. Repeat.

5. Reveal the concentrates

Continue until you're left with heavier minerals such as black sand and gold.

6. Spot the gold & collect your treasure

Look for bright yellow gold at the bottom and use the pipette to safely transfer it to the collection vial. Squeeze the bulb of the plastic pipette before putting the tip underwater, place the tip right next to the gold flake, and release the bulb gently to draw the flake inside. To transfer the gold to the vial, take the pipette out of the pan, place the tip inside the storage vial, and squeeze the bulb again to push the gold water and flakes out. Carefully pour excess water back into the pan.

7. Celebrate your find
